The Concordia Theatre complex is based on three hosiery factories, two joined together as a single building and the third linked by a 25ft ‘bridge corridor’. Areas within the theatre include lower and upper foyer, box office, large licensed bar, coffee lounge, rehearsal room / studio theatre, youth theatre, scenery bay and storage, a whole floor dedicated to painting cloths, green room (known as the public room), dressing rooms, stage and auditorium.

The approximate dimensions of the stage are 32ft proscenium arch, 40ft stage width with 15ft wing space either side, 28ft deep with the possibility of gaining an extra 8ft by covering the orchestra pit (which is in front of the prosc. Arch). There is a flying tower capable of flying cloths, tabs and scenery up to 17ft long and 40ft wide. The fly rail has 29 flying lines two of which are power flown, the rest are on hemp lines with manual flying.

The lighting facilities consist of three dedicated lighting bars on stage, all of which are power flown enabling easy rigging and adjustment of height dependant on the show and set. Two FOH lighting bars and two side ladders for front lighting. One hundred dimmer channels controlled by an Strand 300 series desk. Two follow spots. A good range of standard theatre lanterns including floods, fresnels, profile spots, codas and par cans.

The sound department has six power amplifiers feeding the stage and auditorium, mixed from a 24 channel DDA desk. Riffle mics, Float mics, 6 VHF and 4 UHF Radio mics can be used as inputs to the mixing desk along with 2 MiniDisc players, CD and Cassette players. Sound effects are created and played from a dedicated PC and various Reverb and Compressors are also available.

For the larger shows, additional lanterns and technical equipment such as colour scrollers, intelligent lighting and controllers, coloured slashes etc. are available for hire from ShowTech who are based at the same site as the theatre.
