When Castleford couple Viv and Keith won the football pools in 1961, Viv told the press she would "spend, spend, spend". Her rags to riches, and back to rags story, takes her through five husbands, fast cars, bankruptcy and booze. The show follows Viv happily torn from her northern mining roots into the splendour of Garforth, New York and then well and truly back.

The story charts the comedy, the tragedy and the love story that is the legend of Viv Nicholson.
