Three performances of Puccini’s stunning opera telling the story of the singer Tosca, her lover, the artist Cavaradossi, and Scarpia, the evil chief of police who pursues them both. Scarpia lusts after Tosca and, suspecting that Cavaradossi has assisted an escaped prisoner, takes the opportunity to manipulate Tosca into revealing the prisoner’s hiding place and to offer her a dreadful choice. Tosca must give herself to him or her lover will be killed. One of the greatest operas ever written, Tosca is two hours of gripping theatre – A Concordia Theatre premiere, sung in English.
There will be shows each evening on 12th, 14th & 16th April.
